Statistical Assessment of Surface Quality Using 3D Profilometry Parameters
MetadataShow full item record
he paper presents a statistical analysis for quality assessment of metallic surfaces and coating in order to use the conclusions for improving coating technology. Surface investigation was done with the help of a 3D profilometer, for squared areas of 500 µ m and here there are analysed the 3D amplitude parameters. There were investigated three types of surfaces (stainless steel surface prepared for a future coating, and two coating surfaces deposited on the same steel, but with different technology parameters. For two samples there were done 25 measurements and for one - only 5. There were studied the influence of parameter values extracted from these measurements on the average value of each analysed parameter and the extreme values in order to give some recommendation for the surface quality assessment of these types of surfaces.
