Zusammenfassung
The rails are an important and critical part of a railway system and are exposed, during service, to high stresses of different types, frequency and orientation and also to different environmental. The tram rails are in actuality again within the integration context of Romania into the European community, when aspects linked with the rehabilitation of the infrastructure and superstructure are considered as priority. The MIG/MAG welding equipment is the result of the authors' experience and it responds to the necessity to rehabilitate the tram rails. The ''in situ” rehabilitation of the rails is made in accordance with the world trends in the field the proposed version being a novelty in our country.
