Upon Friction on a Ball Bearing - Outer Raceway Contact - I. Uniform Loading of the Balls

Abstract

The paper advances an analytical model to evaluate the effect of micro-slip on the friction losses at the interface of a normally loaded rolling contact. The model validation was done by comparing the theoretical results with the friction moment measured on a ball bearing for the ball-outer ring contact in the case of uniform loading of the balls.
