Résumé
We are living in an era where Wikipedia already contains 30 million articles, YouTube gets 100 hours of video content uploaded every minute and news appear on blogs faster than in mass-media. We are already talking about the Twitter generation or the Facebook generation. A relevant example is that of the recent riots in the Arab World (Tunis, Syria, Libya, Egypt and Lebanon), where social platforms had a very important role in mobilizing and organizing participants, or the one of the riots in Chisinau in 2009, where, in spite of the fact that the media channels were censored, young Moldavians mobilized themselves and kept people updated on the events that took place with the help of the Twitter social network. Considering their major social impact, the unprecedented rate at which these technologies spread around the world and their tendency to be adopted by companies, we decided to try and clear out a few aspects regarding their use by large companies and especially by accounting departments and professional accountants
