Abstract
Art is “something” we experience from the first years of life until our last ones; being a broad
expression of life, it can also be divided into categories: painting, sculpture, architecture,
literature, music, anything and everything that can make the outsider feel different emotions
in a short time. Many tried to define “art “, to analyze it from many perspectives or even to
give pointers on how to “visualize” the art but what was understood in every situation is that
art is its own “master”. After sneaking a peek over the theoretical background on artistic
forms and their adaptation and appropriation by various other media, one easily discovers that
it is easier to learn by practicing, allowing words to get a shape and a sound of their own.
The main focus of the current paper is to overlap the textual painting of Rossetti’s The
Blessed Damozel on its mirroring and homonymous adapted watercolor and opera
respectively.
