Abstract
In this paper an alternative method to the classical control of the induction motor drive system is proposed. More exactly, a model predictive control (MPC) for the rotor speed of the induction motor is presented. The numerical simulation is done using Simulink and then the results are compared with a classical approach (PI controller).
